Voice command recognition

Voice command recognition
Always wanted to talk to your car, like Kit from Knight Rider? Insert a microphone in your AutoPi, connect it to your car and setup your AutoPi to do actions on certain voice commands. It could be commands like, “Turn on electronic boost controller” or “Take picture with dashboard camera”. It’s all possible with the AutoPi.
Video evidence recording

Video evidence recording
Attaching an external camera to the AutoPi could not be easier. Simply plug it into the AutoPi and mount the camera in your car. Use the AutoPi to store video evidence internally or even upload it to an external server for storage.
Traffic Sign Warning

The AutoPi is able to do machine vision from input of an external camera connected. With this its possible to read traffic signs and warn about hazardous situations. The system could monitor speed signs, overtaking injunctions, one-way driving directions and ghost driving. The system could warn you in real-time with voice commands or audible alarms.

Since the AutoPi is always online, it is possible to use it for Theft detection. The AutoPi can monitor movement and start of your car. You can setup the AutoPi to give notifications to you every time your car is started and even monitor its position online in real-time, thus being able to guide authorities to the exact location of your vehicle. You can setup your AutoPi to sound audible alarms inside your car, to warn off intruders.
Remote Start

Remote Start
Some car models lets the AutoPi control start of your vehicle. With this system you could setup your AutoPi to automatically start when you are within a proximity of 100 meters of your car. Or even have your car start on a certain time to heat it up for your.
Remote seatbelt notifications

Remote seatbelt notifications
Safety first, also for other users of your car. With the AutoPi it is possible to get remote alerts (SMS, Email or other), when your car is moving and the seatbelt is not used. With this system, you don't have to worry when lending out your car to your children or other love ones.
Readout/reset fault codes

When you deliver your car to your mechanic, he connects an external piece of equipment that reads the current health of your car. The AutoPi is able to do the exact same thing and warn you about possible faults. You can even reset fault codes from your car, thus potentially saving a trip to the mechanic.
Radio volume regulation

Radio volume regulation
Often when driving you can experience changing noise levels your car, depending on speed and road surface. And often you turn the radio up/down manually to adjust to the noise level. With the AutoPi it would be possible to control the Radio volume based on the current noise level inside the car. This lead to fewer accidents as you can concentrate on what you do best, driving your car.
Parking heater

Tired of getting into a cold car in the winter? Now it’s possible to connect and control an external parking heater to your AutoPi and control it from your home. Since the AutoPi is always on, you can start the parking heater before you enter the vehicle and make sure it’s warm for you.

Parking Assistance
A lot of cars don’t have built in parking assistance, but with the AutoPi this is now possible. Simply connect an external proximity sensor to the AutoPi and mount the sensor on the rear of your car. Audible alarms from the built in speaker in the AutoPi can warn you about objects you cannot see. Even voice notifications can be given.

Parental Control
It’s possible to detect and identify each driver with the AutoPi. This can be done by connecting a NFC or Bluetooth connector to your AutoPi. With another device (Chip, RFID or smart device) you can identify the driver and setup special rules for this driver. Let’s say your son/daughter just acquired their driving license, but you are not too keen on them driving your car. You can then setup speed limits and get notifications when these limits are violated. You can also setup audible alarms inside your car, to warn the driver of unwanted driving behavior. It’s even possible to setup Geofences to ensure that the vehicle stays with certain geographical boundaries.
In-car mobile hotspot

In-car mobile hotspot
Many tables and laptops (or other devices), does not have an internet connection, which limits their use when out of Wi-Fi range. Since the AutoPi is always online, it can be configured as a mobile hotspot for in-car use. This makes it possible for passengers in the backseat to enjoy a more entertaining ride.
Emergency braking alert

Emergency braking alert
Often when an accident occurs on the highway it results in multiple collisions, because cars are moving too close. The AutoPi can help you avoid multiple collisions with the Emergency Brake Alert System. The system works by automatically turning on your hazard lights for 10 secs, when you do a hard brake. This help cars coming from behind detect the dangerous situation and avoid colliding with your car.
Eco driving optimization alerts

Eco driving optimization alerts
Many drivers does not realize the amount of money they could save, by changing their driving behavior. Since gear and RPM position is available through the AutoPi, it would be possible to create a system which assisted you in achieving the optimal driving behavior and thereby getting the best mileage for your specific car. The system could sound alerts to the user, either through the build in speaker or through the internal audio system in the car.

Since the AutoPi monitors all output from your car and the exact location of your car, it’s possible to detect specific patterns of usage. Let’s say you don’t drive in a very economical behavior, the system can then be programmed to warn you about exceeding RPM limits or breaking too much. This should increase your vehicle gas mileage.

Lend or rent out of your car can be a gamble, because you don’t know if borrowers treat your car in the same way you do. But now you can monitor the driving behavior online in real-time. The AutoPi connects directly to your car and can be setup to monitor every output of your car. You can setup the AutoPi to send messages to you if special driving patterns has been violated. You can even sound audible alarms or voice alarms inside the car, to warn the driver. This is perfect for people who rent out their car through online communities.

Since the AutoPi is always online, it is possible to use it for Crash detection. The AutoPi can monitor deployment of your airbags and send out notifications to your relatives or emergency personal in the event of a crash. It has a built in accelerometer which helps detect sudden changes in movement, indicating a crash.

It’s easy to connect a variable exhaust valve or an electronic boost controller to your AutoPi. Just plug the controller into your AutoPi and control it directly from your dashboard. Or even program your devices to enable during special situations. It can be setup to auto enable when RPM or speed exceed certain limits.

With the build in HDMI connector, it’s easy to connect an external display to your AutoPi. This could be a HUD (heads up display) or Touch Screen showing your AutoPi dashboard with relevant information for your trip.
Collision Prevention Assistance

Collision Prevention Assistance
A collision prevention assistant helps you maintain distance to cars in front of you, but this system is not standard in all cars. With the AutoPi this can be standard. Mount an external sensor (proximity sensor) on the front of your car, and connect this to your AutoPi. With built in audible alarms, the AutoPi is able to warn you if you don’t keep a safe distance to cars in front of you. Connect an external rain sensor and suddenly you can make your collision prevention assistant adaptive and warn your about driving behavior in dangerous weather circumstances.
Cabin overheat protection

Cabin overheat protection
Often people tend to leave their pets (or even children) in the car during the summer, if they just have a “short” appointment. The temperature inside the car rises very fast, often within minutes and just small things like opening the windows a little could end up saving your pet. With the AutoPi it would be possible to design a system to automatically open the windows a little bit (like 5 cm) given a certain temperature inside the car. It would then be possible to automatically close it again, once the temperature drops.

When stopping, for paying toll or ordering from drive-ins, you need to adjust the radio volume. With the AutoPi it would be possible to automatically control the radio volume when you turn down your window, allowing you to concentrate on the task at hand.
Auto lock/unlock

A common mistake when leaving your car, is that you forget to lock it, leaving it open to theft. With the AutoPi it would be possible to build a system that automatically locks your car, based on your proximity to the car. This could also assist you when arriving at the car, with both hands full of groceries.
